Papers, 1735-1754.

Correspondence and papers, 1735-54 and undated. Morris' letters deal with his concern about the outbreak of the French & Indian War, business and family matters, and his continuing efforts to supply the estate at Morrisania with goods imported from England. The other material, mostly undated, indicates that Morris was an occasional contributor to New York newspapers. His favorite themes were the nature of liberty and the folly of party politics, sometimes employing poetry or satire to make his point.
